If you need to remove or delete an AdWords account for any reason follow the below instructions.  One of the good reasons you may want to delete an AdWords account is becuase you have set a Credit Card and want to completely remove it.

 

Before you delete the AdWords account you should export out your Campaign. You should also export out the Ads and Keywords you have used separately. This will get exported out as a CSV file which you can re-import in a new AdWords account or simply open in Excel.

 

 

  • Login in to AdWords and click on the Campaigns tab
  • Select your campaign, we suggest 1 at a time by ticking the tick box
  • Click on Edit and click Download Spreadsheet
  • Download as a CSV file
  • Click on Keywords tab, select all Keywords
  • Click on Edit and click Download Spreadsheet
  • Download as a CSV file
  • Once you have downloaded your required data, click on the gear icon select Account Settings
  • Click Preferences
  • Under Account Cancellation click Cancel this account
