Navigate to Windows > System32 > drivers > etc

 

Open the host file in notepad in administrator mode or safe mode

 

Click Start , click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Notepad, and then click  Run as administrator.

 

Failing this, restart the computer in safe mode.

Restart the computer and Press F8 (Windows 7) to start the options for safe mode

 

 

type in 127.0.0.1 type in the address desired such as mkg.com

 

Example of what the host file should look like:

 

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.

# 127.0.0.1       localhost

# ::1             localhost

127.0.0.1       mkg.com
